Frequently Asked Questions
  • Rosters & Schedules Completion: Rosters and game schedules will be e-mailed to your family approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the season.
  • When does my team play games?: For our 6 v 6 League, games occur on Saturday Mornings (Start Times Rotate each week between 9 am, 10:15 am, 11:30am & 12:45 pm) For our 3 v 3 League, games occur on Sunday Afternoons (Start Times Rotate each week from 1 pm, 2, 3 & 4 pm)
  • When are practices?: Practices are NOT mandatory and are scheduled by each individual Volunteer Coach/Team, not MSCR! Please reach out to them with specific questions on if your team decides to practice before your games.
  • Is there travel involved in this League?: Due to our high enrollment (especially in the Spring & Fall), travel within the City of Madison is often required, especially in the older ages of the 6 v 6 League. We do our best to accommodate team & player field preferences, so please make sure your registration has that information so we can take that into account when creating schedulers!
  • What equipment is required to play?: We don't require shin guards or soccer cleats to play in any of our Leagues, HOWEVER--it is recommended to wear shin guards and cleats, especially as your player gets older.
  • My Team doesn't have an assigned Coach: If your Team does not have a Volunteer Coach by the time of your first game, your team still plays as scheduled! It then becomes a group effort on game days from the parents & guardians to ensure each player gets to play and provide general guidance & encouragement from the sideline. Oftentimes after Week 1 a brave soul or two will step up to Volunteer!
